How to find the chord you want

To find the guitar chords you are looking for, you must enter a root note. If you enter 'A', for example, the chord dictionary will give you a list of all chords that have A as the root note, as well as A chords which have modified bass notes such as A/G.

You may also enter a root note plus the type of chord you are looking for. For example, if you are looking for A minor 7 enter 'A minor 7' or 'Am7'. It does not matter whether or not you use abbreviations such as 'm' for minor or 'aug' for augmented. It is recommended that you specify a type of chord, otherwise you may find hundreds of matching chord diagrams.

Chord diagrams for chords with root (or altered bass) notes containing and accidental can be found by entering the note as a flat rather than a sharp. Root/altered bass notes are not phrased in terms of sharps in this chord dictionary. To find F# major, for example, you should enter Gb major; to find C# minor you should enter Db minor.

Accessibility
